Have an MCP-compatible client ready. Check your Eterna account eligibility and, if you intend to use a referral, its attribution before completing account creation.

1. Choose your client

  1. Open Claude’s custom connectors in your account.
  2. Add a connector named Eterna using the endpoint below.
  3. Connect and complete the official OAuth sign-in. Review the requested access before approval.

Custom connector access depends on your client and account. Follow the official quickstart if the interface differs.

Cursor / Claude Code

The Eterna quickstart provides this configuration for .cursor/mcp.json in Cursor or .mcp.json in Claude Code. Merge it with existing servers instead of overwriting your configuration.

Reload the client if needed, then complete OAuth. No seed phrase or private key belongs in this file.

2. Check the tools

Look for search_sdk, execute_code and search_examples. The current gateway has no register_agent tool: agent provisioning happens through sign-in.

3. Ask for a market observation

Use search_sdk to discover the BTCUSDT ticker method and its parameters. Then use execute_code only to read its latest market price. Report the source and timestamp if supplied. Do not place, modify or cancel orders, change leverage, transfer funds or withdraw.

Check that the result contains BTCUSDT data from the connected tool. An invented answer or a text explanation without a tool call does not validate the connection. Do not infer a timestamp if the response does not include one.

4. Troubleshoot the first session

No tools appear
Check the endpoint, remote transport support and whether the connector is enabled. Reload the client.
Authentication error
Reconnect through official OAuth and check account access. Do not paste credentials into a public chat.
Unknown method or parameters
Discover the current SDK signature with search_sdk before execution; old per-endpoint MCP examples may not apply.
The client proposes a trade
Decline the action. Recheck tool approvals and permission settings before continuing the observation.

Referral and agent accounts

Opening a referral link does not prove that an OAuth-provisioned sub-account inherits it. Confirm account attribution with Eterna. This guide cannot attach or change a referral after signup.
